We support several local organisations including the Cronulla Sharks and the Sutherland Sharks Basketball Association, providing them with chaplaincy and pastoral care.

Our annual Saturday of Service seeks to serve local not-for-profit organisations by providing labour to renovate and refresh their facilities.  In the past few years we have renovated premises both inside and out for Sylvanvale Disability Services, PCYC, Kirinari Indigenous Youth Hostel and nursing homes.

In 2015 we have one of our largest projects to date as we renovate four Project Youth accommodation facilities, used to house at risk teens in the Shire.  That’s three houses and an eight-unit block of units!

Horizon Youth reaches into local schools, providing support and outreach to the school community through high school chaplaincy, breakfast club, school Life Groups and scripture in schools.  In addition we run the Synergy Schools Conference, a community impacting initiative supported by principals and school communities throughout the Shire.  The Conference equips students with life skills and gives correct perspective to destructive behavior in teen culture.

Horizon Kids hosts a biannual kids holiday program called Heroes Academy that builds confidence and raises potential in school kids from the Shire community.  It is open to all primary school aged children and is an incredible day of fun with Cronulla Sharks NRL players joining in with the kids, fun games and challenges, the opportunity to learn new skills like dancing, singing, playing an instrument or even billy-cart building!  It’s an incredibly successful event for children in the Sutherland Shire.

One of our favourite events every Christmas is our Gift Giving Service.  On this special morning everyone brings a gift to be given to those who may otherwise go without at Christmas.  The gifts are received under our huge Christmas tree during the service and are then distributed to local organisations within the Shire and beyond to bless others at Christmas.  To date, thousands of gifts have been given to refugee families, women and their children in local shelters and the Sutherland Hospital.

Christian Surfers is an organisation that provides a Christian presence and witness in the Australian surf community.  Horizon Church provides support to one of our own in Dave Lovell who is the Regional Coordinator for Christian Surfers Central NSW, which runs from Nelson Bay to Cronulla.  Christian Surfers run camps, day trips, surf comps, Bible studies and provide the surfing community with positive and encouraging role models to look up to.

Meals for Mums is a ministry demonstrating God’s love to our community in a practical and meaningful way.  Every week families facing crisis within our community are provided with delicious home style meals prepared by a team of dedicated Horizon Church women.
